With a commitment to core values such as safety, reliability, and community engagement, Mason PUD 3 sought to enhance their website to reflect these principles. To achieve intuitive design and increase the use of online tools, Mason PUD 3 partnered with Powerful.

Achieving Intuitive Design

With Mason PUD 3’s customers in mind, Powerful strategically placed action buttons on the homepage. These buttons are tailored to facilitate easy access to the most frequently sought services such as bill payment, starting or stopping services, and accessing traffic camera feeds. The intuitive design of these buttons ensures that customers can find what they need quickly and efficiently, aligning with Mason PUD 3’s core values of customer focus and solution-oriented services.

Visualizing Information for Increased Engagement

In addition to functional improvements, the website’s redesign breaks down complex information into simple, visually engaging elements. For example, the Start or Stop Electric Service page incorporates icons, imagery, checklists, and concise text boxes. These features guide visitors through the process without overwhelming them with jargon or dense paragraphs. This customer-focused, solutions-oriented page transforms how information is presented. As a result, the visualized page helps customers understand and manage their services better.

Brand Integration & Custom Design Elements

Incorporating Mason PUD 3’s brand identity, Powerful utilized the brand’s palette across the website. The subtle use of orange accents throughout the website enhances recognition and creates a consistent visual experience.

A Nod to Local Identity

The custom illustrated footer on the website deserves special mention for its creative integration of local elements such as oysters, a bald eagle, orcas, the Squaxin Island Tribe, Theler Wetlands, and the Olympic Mountains. This unique design element serves as a powerful tool for community engagement. By incorporating these local symbols, the website celebrates the rich history of the area Mason PUD 3 serves, aligning with its core value of community engagement.
