Powered by First Electric Cooperative, Connect2First strives to provide high-speed internet and phone services in rural communities across Arkansas. With a mission to enhance the quality of life of their community, Connect2First sought to improve their online presence to better serve their members. Together with Powerful, they aimed to create an intuitive website that heightens transparency.

Achieving an Intuitive Design through a Promotional Blueprint

One of the main goals for Connect2First’s website redesign was to create an intuitive experience that makes information readily accessible and engaging. To achieve this, Powerful introduced a strategic promotional blueprint. The website’s layout now features distinct, well-defined sections, each dedicated to different aspects of Connect2Firsts’s offerings. For example, the hero section on the homepage immediately captures attention with a vibrant image of a family enjoying gaming together, effectively highlighting the residential internet plans. This section also features a prominent button that invites visitors to explore residential internet plans.

Each section is equipped with clear and concise buttons and visual cues, making navigation a breeze. As a result of the promotional blueprint’s clear and logical flow, Connect2First significantly enhances the overall member experience.

Commitment to Transparency

Increasing transparency was another critical goal in the redesign. Powerful addressed this through two innovative solutions: customer testimonials and the Rate Plans app. The homepage prominently displays customer testimonials under the phrase, “Real experiences, genuine feedback; discover how Connect2First makes a difference.” These testimonials humanize Connect2First’s brand while showcasing the impact their services on the quality of life of actual members.

Additionally, the introduction of the Rate Plans app has taken transparency to a new level. This tool is designed to display the pricing and features of various plans clearly. Each plan is presented with icons and brief descriptions, allowing visitors to easily understand Connect2First’s offerings without any hidden details. This straightforward presentation simplifies the selection process and empowers members to make informed decisions based on clear, concise information.

Challenges

Choosing the right internet and phone services can often feel overwhelming due to the complex information that typically accompanies such decisions. For many members, especially in rural areas where digital literacy may vary, walls of text explaining services and technical specifications can deter engagement and comprehension. Connect2First addressed the need to present their diverse offerings in a clear and accessible manner. The challenge was to ensure that all members, regardless of their technical background, could easily understand add evaluate these services.

Solutions

In response to this challenge, Powerful introduced visualized pages. These pages transform traditional "walls of words" into visually engaging, easily digestible content. By breaking down information into simple visual graphics, relevant icons, and simplified diagrams, information is now easy to navigate. For example, the visualized Affordable Connectivity Program simplifies the program benefits and application steps through a streamlined visual guide.

Results

The shift to visualized pages enhances how members interact with complex information on Connect2First's website. Members can now quickly identify the information that matters most to them, leading to better-informed decisions and increased satisfaction. These visualized pages improve the overall member experience by making technical information accessible and less daunting. Additionally, the visually appealing format encourages longer interaction times on the website, further enhancing understanding and engagement with the content.

Getting to be the Project Manager for Connect2First's website redesign was a special one for me. Growing up in their service territory in Arkansas, I understood the importance of creating a website that was modern, clean, and simple to use for site visitors. I love the bright and welcoming approach their website has while still remaining very straightforward and easy to digest and find content. It was a joy to work with their team on this one, and I'm very proud of how it turned out!
