Meet Kankakee Valley REMC

Kankakee Valley REMC (KVREMC) is a not-for-profit cooperative dedicated to exceeding the expectations of their community. Emphasizing trust, education, and open dialogue, KVREMC identified the potential to enhance their online services. To achieve this, they partnered with Powerful to enrich the online member experience and streamline administrative processes.

Enhancing Member Engagement Through Online Forms

KVREMC sought to simplify and modernize how members interact with their services. To replace older processes with more accessible online solutions, Powerful integrated online forms on KVREMC’s website. These forms allow members to apply for services, opt into paperless billing, and send inquiries with ease– eliminating the need for paper-based processes.

The shift to online forms enriches members’ overall experience. It also enhances administrative efficiency. Powerful’s backend system is designed for ease of management, allowing responses to be handled swiftly, and notifications to be sent to relevant departments. These backend features improve response times and operational efficiency.

Streamlining Access to Online Tools

Alongside enhancing member interaction, KVREMC aimed to increase the active use of their online tools. To achieve this goal, Powerful placed a SmartHub login widget prominently on the homepage. This strategic placement ensures it’s one of the first features a visitor encounters, promoting immediate engagement. By providing members a convenient way to manage their accounts, the login widget encourages members to utilize this online tool.

Challenges

One of the primary challenges of KVREMC's website redesign was ensuring that their website's navigation was intuitive and visitor-friendly. Members needed to find information and services quickly without navigating through complex or confusing pathways. The goal was to create a seamless experience that would encourage return-visits and engagement.

Solutions

In response, Powerful strategized KVREMC's website structure based on content best practices. The solution involved implementing a streamlined menu that logically categorizes services and information, making it straightforward for members to find what they need with minimal clicks. Powerful also introduced features such as a search bar and well-defined call-to-action buttons that further simplify the navigation process.

Results

KVREMC's intuitive design allows members to navigate the website with ease. Members now benefit from quick access to essential services and information. Through these enhancements, KVREMC maintain a high level of member engagement and supports their mission to provide exceptional service to their members.

I'm thrilled with how Kankakee Valley REMC's new website turned out! This project went beyond a simple refresh; it was about improving how members engage with their co-op online. I'm excited to see how this website will continue to support KVREMC's growth in the years to come.
