T-Translatable (ensuring the content can be translated by automatic translation tools. PDF files and images that have text embedded in them are not translatable. Further, writing in plain language increases the accuracy of automatic translators).
A-Accessible & Inclusive (Ensuring the content works for people who use assistive technology, is accessible to people with disabilities such as vision impairment, color blindness, hearing impairment and deaf for audio, written with short margins for dyslexia)
R-Responsive (ensuring content is curated in a way that it can rearrange elements and word wrap to be optimized for different screen sizes, especially mobile).

Home Page/Body
(Required)
Look for and remove placeholders and other unneeded pages. A search on the reveal site for the page will reveal if it will show up even if it is not part of any menu.
Go to the Web App activation & settings part and check for the company logo in the Open Graph image under global settings. Having this helps ensure that there is a fallback image for the link share preview image. Once the site is live you can use the Facebook developer tool to check the site. If no preview image is present you can have Facebook scrape the page by hitting the Fetch new information button.
https://pagespeed.web.dev can be used to perform an audit on the site which will reveal performance, accessibility, best practices and SEO issues. After the audit is run the results can be sent to Mehran.

Images
All images have succinct, accurate, and equivalent Alt Text.
If an image has text, ensure the text is in the alt text (i.e. if there is an image that says “Annual Meeting” the alt text should convey the same.)
Functional Images (interactive map, graphic button, link) are used to initiate actions rather than to convey information. Alt text should convey the action being initiated rather than a description of the image. ○ Example: If it is an image of a map with each room an interactive map area, the alt text is, “The building’s floor plan. Select a room for more information about the purpose or content of the room.” The instruction to “select a room” indicates that the image is interactive.
Images linked to documents include the document extension in the alt text.
Screen readers will indicate links. As such, linked images only need to indicate where the user is being taken. (ie: Oklahoma Electric Cooperative home page)
Complex Images (chart, graph, map, text) ● Alt text describes information in the image, or ● Text displayed in image is used as alt text, or
Accessible format of the information is provided (ie: link to accessible document or text on the page) ○ Alt text should describe the general content of the image and function of the link, or ○ Note to the client to provide an accessible version of the image
Decorative Images (stock photos, clip art) Do not use decorative images, stock photos, or clip art within the content of the page.
Slideshows Limit slideshows to a small number of images that a user can digest in one sitting. Turn on next/previous functionality and/or pagination options. Complex images such as charts, graphs, maps, or images with text are not to be used in slideshows.
Animations Do not place animated images on a page. Note for the client that these are not accessible.
Make sure Facebook featured image and fallback image works https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/
For new sites, we need to make sure if the Featured Image is set that it is picked up by the Facebook tool. Also test a page that doesn’t have a featured image and make sure it goes to a fallback image (usually the client logo on a white background). If Facebook hasn’t scraped the page before, you have to press a button in the tool to get the page info. There’s also a button to scrape the page again (get refreshed information).
