Website Trends Panel Highlights Powerful’s Expertise at NWPPA NIC Conference in Portland, Oregon
PORTLAND, OR – Powerful was proud to participate in the Northwest Public Power Association (NWPPA) Northwest Innovations in Communications (NIC) Conference held in Portland, Oregon, from October 11 to 14, 2021. Representing Powerful at this key industry event were CEO, Charlie Stanley and our Manager of Project Administration, Kaytee Horton.
Kaytee Horton joined Flynt Johnson of Gravitate Design Studio and Kerala Taylor from Pixelspoke on a panel discussing Website Trends. The panel, moderated by Will O’Donnell of Jefferson County Public Utility District No. 1, explored emerging trends in website design and their implications for public power communicators.
The NIC Conference is designed to address the needs of public power communicators, featuring keynote speakers and general sessions on topics such as media relations, diversity/equity, inclusion, and crisis communications. The event also included breakout sessions on specialized topics like social media, internal communications, video, customer/member engagement, and website design.
New this year were NIC Talks—five mini-sessions in 75 minutes, along with opportunities to share ideas and innovative solutions with peers in roundtable sessions. Attendees also voted for their favorite photos at the Welcome Reception and celebrated the Excellence in Communications winners at the awards banquet on Wednesday evening.
Also in attendance was staff from Pioneer Utility Resources, a sponsor of the event and a close affiliate of Powerful.
