STRGBA & Powerful Redefine How the Modesto Subbasin Connects to Groundwater Resources
MODESTO, CA — Groundwater may move slowly, but the Stanislaus and Tuolumne Rivers Groundwater Basin Association’s (STRGBA) approach to communication moves fast. In partnership with Powerful, the regional groundwater agency unveiled a redesigned website built for transparency, simplicity, and real-time access to local water management updates.
STRGBA represents seven member agencies dedicated to managing and protecting the Modesto Subbasin’s groundwater resources. The redesign creates a modern, easy-to-navigate platform where residents, water partners, and policymakers can stay informed on meetings, projects, and sustainability initiatives.
“As an agency that exists to align resources and information for its member organizations, STRGBA used a task-oriented approach to meet their goals of having an easy-to-use site with up-to-date information readily available,” said Annie Watson, Project Manager at Powerful. “The STRGBA took a strategic approach to ensure their site represents the agency and member organizations as forward-thinking.”
The new site was designed to help STRGBA communicate clearly and consistently. Visitors can find meeting details, view reports, and explore groundwater sustainability efforts with ease. Each event listing includes date, time, and location information with a link to Google Maps, while the homepage automatically highlights the next three upcoming meetings for quick access.
“The whole process was very well done from Powerful,” said Matthew Kinzie, STRGBA IT Project Manager. “I really appreciate the flexibility to work with our extremely long timelines for us to review and update the content.”
Kinzie added that STRGBA valued the communication and care that went into the redesign. “All project managers were great—I really appreciate the efforts from everyone,” he said. “I know from our mid.org project that the post go-live support will likely also be excellent.”
The redesigned website reflects STRGBA’s commitment to transparency and collaboration, bringing clarity to the complex work of groundwater management.
