PSC of Yazoo City Launches First Intranet With Powerful to Support Employees
YAZOO CITY, MS– The Public Service Commission (PSC) of Yazoo City has introduced its first intranet, created to support the people who keep essential services running every day. Designed in partnership with Powerful, the new platform focuses on clear communication, current information, and easy access to internal resources.
The intranet marks a continuation of PSC of Yazoo City’s partnership with Powerful. After collaborating on the organization’s public-facing website, the team returned to Powerful to create an internal platform dedicated to employees. The goal was to strengthen internal operations by increasing the use of online tools, featuring relevant and up-to-date content, and making information easy to find.
Built for PSC of Yazoo City’s team of 40 employees, the intranet brings essential resources into one centralized location. Employees can access internal updates, documents, and tools that support daily work, all within a single, dependable platform designed to fit into existing routines.
“An intranet is such a powerful tool to increase employee engagement,” said Annie Watson, project manager at Powerful.
The intranet was designed using Powerful’s search-focused Tabor blueprint, which supports quick access to information while keeping the overall experience simple and approachable. A prominent search feature gives employees an efficient way to locate forms, documents, and internal resources as needed. Clear navigation and call-to-action buttons work alongside the search bar. Together, they guide employees to commonly used tools and updates without disrupting established workflows.
“The team at the PSC of Yazoo City strategically built their first-ever intranet with their employees top of mind, ensuring relevant information and resources were easy to find and access,” Watson said.
To help keep information current, PSC of Yazoo City integrated Powerful’s News Releases and Calendar & Events web apps into the intranet homepage. The News Releases section highlights recent internal updates such as announcements, department highlights, and event recaps. The Calendar & Events section keeps employees informed about upcoming meetings, closures, deadlines, and internal events. Together, these tools help ensure employees always have access to timely and relevant information.
