Powerful’s Caleigh Pickard Inspires Future Leaders at the NRECA’s Electric Cooperative Youth Tour 2024 2024 in Washington, DC
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Caleigh Pickard, Senior Project Manager at Powerful, recently served as a Staff Assistant at the NRECA’s Youth Tour 2024 in Washington, D.C. Caleigh played a key role in the facilitation of the program and got to share her inspiring journey from being a Youth Tour participant to her current position at Powerful with a handful of students.
During Youth Tour, Caleigh spoke on a panel at the Youth Tour All-Stars breakfast, addressing around 100 students. Sharing her journey from a Youth Tour participant to her current role at Powerful, she emphasized the opportunities within the cooperative world. “Youth Tour was lifechanging for me,” Caleigh said. “It sparked a passion for public power and cooperatives that has shaped my career and life.”
In her current role at Powerful, Caleigh guides cooperative communicators through website projects, often reconnecting with many of them as they chaperone Youth Tour. Her journey is a testament to the long-lasting impact of the Youth Tour program.
“I am thrilled to share my story with these young leaders,” said Caleigh. “Youth Tour was a pivotal experience for me, and it’s an honor to come full circle, now mentoring the next generation of cooperative enthusiasts.
