Powerful & Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative Bring Annual Report Online
WILCOX, AZ — Annual reports have long been printed, mailed and shared at member meetings. Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative (SSVEC) is expanding that tradition with a 2025 Annual Report microsite designed in partnership with Powerful.
The new microsite gives SSVEC’s annual report a more accessible home online. Built as a one-page experience, the site organizes the cooperative’s annual updates into clear sections that visitors can navigate directly from the top of the page.
SSVEC, a not-for-profit, member-owned electric cooperative serving southeastern Arizona, provides electricity to more than 60,000 services across parts of Cochise, Graham, Pima and Santa Cruz counties. The cooperative’s annual report plays an important role in sharing information about its operations, financials, leadership and priorities with the members it serves.
Powerful designed the 2025 Annual Report microsite to help that information reach beyond a single meeting, mailing or printed program. Visitors can access the report from any device, move directly to the section they want to review and return to the information throughout the year.
“Transparency and accessibility — best of both worlds,” said Annie Watson, Powerful project manager. “Creating an annual report available from anywhere, developed digitally with all members in mind, is the way to go, and the SSVEC team gets it.”
The digital format also helps address common access barriers tied to printed reports and static PDFs. Live website content can be searched online, translated through tools like Google Translate and viewed on mobile devices without requiring visitors to pinch and zoom through a document.
Powerful built the microsite with its STAR Standard in mind. The standard focuses on making content searchable, translatable, accessible and responsive. For an annual report, that means important cooperative information can be presented in a format that supports how people look for and read information today.
“The industry standard is to publish a paper annual report in the monthly magazine or as a program distributed at the annual meeting,” Watson said. “An online report breaks down barriers by presenting critical co-op information within the STAR Standard.”
The project continues SSVEC’s collaboration with Powerful, which also designed the cooperative’s 2024 annual report. For 2025, SSVEC wanted to build on that work with an experience that supported transparency, community engagement, web accessibility and a more modern approach to member communication.
The microsite turns the annual report into a year-round resource for members. Instead of serving as a report tied to one moment, it gives SSVEC a lasting place to share its progress, priorities and cooperative story online.
