Powerful Sponsors Golf Scramble and Joins Idaho Consumer-Owned Utilities Association Annual Meeting
Firm behind nine of ICUA’s 21 member utility websites returns to Boise for the association’s annual gathering
BOISE, IDAHO — Powerful attended the 2026 Idaho Consumer-Owned Utilities Association (ICUA) Annual Meeting July 22 and 23 at The Riverside Hotel in Boise, and served as a sponsor of the 21st Annual PAC Fund Golf Scramble, held July 22 at Warm Springs Golf Course along the Boise River. Proceeds from the scramble benefit the ICUA Political Action Committee, which supports candidates who advocate for public power in Idaho.
Powerful has designed and managed ICUA’s website for more than seven years. The firm today hosts and manages the websites of nine of the association’s 21 member utilities:
- Clearwater Power Company
- Idaho County Light & Power Cooperative
- Kootenai Electric Cooperative
- Lower Valley Energy
- Northern Lights, Inc.
- Raft River Rural Electric Co-Op
- Salmon River Electric Cooperative
- United Electric Co-Op
- Wells Rural Electric Co.
“Idaho’s consumer-owned utilities have been part of our work for a long time, and ICUA is the room where all of it comes together,” said Charlie Stanley, CEO and Chief Web Solutions Architect at Powerful. “Sponsoring the scramble and sitting in these sessions is how we stay close to what our clients are actually navigating. You cannot build good communication tools for an industry you are not paying attention to.”
The meeting opened with welcome remarks from Will Hart, Executive Director of ICUA, and Brad Gamett, ICUA President, followed by a keynote from two-time Paralympic gold medalist and retired U.S. Marine Josh Sweeney.
Powerful attended sessions across the full program, including an economic outlook from Antony Davies, Director of Economic Research at CFC; an update from Corey Parr, President and CEO of Federated Rural Electric Insurance Exchange; an Idaho Energy Resources Authority briefing from Executive Director Ron Williams; and a look at the future of hydropower from Clark Mather, Executive Director of Northwest RiverPartners.
The afternoon featured a Bonneville Power Administration update and roundtable with Michelle Manary, Vice President of Transmission Marketing and Sales; Daniel Fisher, Acting Vice President of Requirements Marketing; and Maureen Kavanagh, Policy and Strategy Planning Manager for Fish and Wildlife. Scott Simms, Executive Director of the Public Power Council, closed the afternoon with a PPC update.
Powerful also used the meeting to reconnect with fellow sponsors and longtime collaborators, including NISC, Cooperative Response Center (CRC), and General Pacific. Powerful maintains close working relationships with each, and their teams remain frequent partners in serving shared utility clients.
