Powerful Serves as Kilowatt Level Sponsor of Alaska Power Association’s 75th Annual Meeting, Donates $5,000 in Services to ARECA Educational Foundation Benefit Auction
ANCHORAGE, ALASKA — Powerful, the web design, hosting, security, and support firm serving electric cooperatives, municipal utilities, and public power organizations, is proud to serve as a Kilowatt Level sponsor of the Alaska Power Association’s (APA) 75th Annual Meeting, held September 29 through October 2, 2026, at the Hilton Anchorage. The milestone meeting, hosted by Chugach Electric Association and carrying the theme “A Legacy of Partnership. A Future of Opportunity” marks 75 years of Alaska’s consumer-owned electric utilities working together to power the 49th state.
Powerful’s CEO and Chief Web Solutions Architect, Charlie Stanley, is on the ground in Anchorage for the full four days of the annual meeting, representing the firm and connecting directly with Alaska’s utility leaders, communicators, and educational partners.
In Distinguished Company at the Kilowatt Level
Powerful is honored to stand alongside a distinguished slate of fellow Kilowatt Level sponsors at the 75th Annual Meeting — organizations Powerful is proud to call friends and long-standing industry collaborators: the Northwest Public Power Association (NWPPA), General Pacific, and the National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC). Each of these organizations plays a meaningful role in the consumer-owned utility community, and their shared support for APA’s milestone meeting reflects a broader commitment across the industry to Alaska’s electric utilities and the members they serve.
A Powerful Footprint Across Alaska’s Electric Utility Community
Powerful’s sponsorship of the APA Annual Meeting reflects one of the deepest web-partner footprints in Alaska’s electric utility community. Powerful designed and continues to steward the Alaska Power Association’s own website at alaskapower.org — marked in the site’s footer as “A Powerful Creation” — and serves as the web partner to a growing roster of APA member utilities across the state, including:
- Alaska Power Association (statewide association and host of the 75th Annual Meeting)
- Copper Valley Electric Association
- Homer Electric Association
- Naknek Electric Association
- Kotzebue Electric Association
- Golden Valley Electric Association
Each of these utilities serves communities across a vast and demanding geography; from the Kenai Peninsula and the Copper Valley to Interior Alaska and the Northwest Arctic — and each depends on a website partner who understands the unique realities of powering Alaska. Powerful delivers that partnership through its trademarked STAR Standard® methodology, ensuring every website is Searchable, Translatable, Accessible, and Responsive to the members these utilities exist to serve.
Supporting the ARECA Educational Foundation Benefit Auction
In addition to its Kilowatt Level sponsorship, Powerful has contributed to the ARECA Educational Foundation Benefit Auction with a live auction donation, “Powerful Website Services for Utilities”, a $5,000 credit applicable to any of Powerful’s specialized website services, including website design, website management, and mobile app development. The credit is tailored specifically for electric cooperatives, utility districts, and municipal utility organizations, including water and broadband providers. One hundred percent of auction proceeds benefit the ARECA Educational Foundation.
The benefit auction took place Thursday evening, October 1, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Hilton Anchorage, following the APA Awards Banquet. This year’s auction is described in the meeting program as “a revamped auction with fabulous prizes, mystery auctioneer, and other surprises”, one of the signature social and fundraising moments of the annual meeting.
Investing in the Next Generation of Alaska’s Utility Workforce
The ARECA Educational Foundation supports educational and workforce development opportunities that strengthen Alaska’s electric utility community — including scholarships for students pursuing careers in the utility industry and programs that prepare the next generation of engineers, lineworkers, communicators, and utility leaders. In a state where distances are long, communities are far-flung, and reliable electric service is a lifeline, that pipeline of talent is not optional. It is essential infrastructure. Every dollar raised through the benefit auction goes back into that mission.
“A Legacy of Partnership” More Than a Theme
“There is nowhere else quite like Alaska, and there is nothing else quite like the community of people who keep the lights on here,”
“Being here in Anchorage for APA’s 75th anniversary, sitting alongside our friends at NWPPA, General Pacific, and NISC as fellow Kilowatt Level sponsors, and looking across the room at leaders from utilities we’ve been proud to partner with — from Copper Valley to Kotzebue, from Homer to Golden Valley, from Naknek to APA itself — is a real privilege. The theme this year is ‘A Legacy of Partnership. A Future of Opportunity,’ and that’s exactly right. Seventy-five years of Alaska’s utilities helping each other, and now a foundation working to make sure the next 75 years have the people to carry it forward. Contributing to the ARECA Educational Foundation is our way of investing in that future, and we’re grateful to be a small part of it.”
