Powerful Partnership Gives Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative New Ways to Serve & Connect
SEMINOLE, OK — Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative (CVEC) is expanding its online service with a redesigned website developed in partnership with Powerful.
Since 1939, CVEC has provided electric service to communities across east central Oklahoma with a focus on improving lives and serving its communities. The cooperative approached the redesign with goals to simplify navigation, increase transparency, keep information current, and give members more opportunities to complete everyday tasks online.
“CVEC’s motto is to ‘Improve Life, Serve Community,’” said Stacey Horton, project manager at Powerful. “This new site does exactly that by making key information for members easily accessible from the homepage.”
The homepage places frequently requested information within immediate reach. Members can quickly pay their bill, report an outage, start or stop service, and access other common resources. Additional sections give CVEC space to highlight programs, announcements, and priorities as they change throughout the year.
The timing gave CVEC an early opportunity to put that flexibility into practice. The redesigned website debuted ahead of the cooperative’s Annual Meeting, with event information featured prominently to help members stay informed and encourage participation.
The project also brought several previously PDF-based processes online. Members can now complete forms for Auto Draft Bank Payment, solar interconnection, the Sharing Success Grant Program, and other requests directly through the website. Required fields help members submit complete information, while completed forms notify the appropriate CVEC departments for review.
CVEC also placed an emphasis on making cooperative leadership visible and accessible. Its Board of Trustees page introduces each of the cooperative’s eight elected trustees with a photograph, district information, leadership title, and direct email option. The page gives members a straightforward way to identify and contact the trustee representing their area.
“CVEC wanted to provide a site experience that served their communities’ needs, and they more than delivered,” Horton said.
The redesigned website extends CVEC’s service-focused approach online, creating a central resource for members to stay informed, connect with their cooperative, and take care of common needs on their own time.
