Powerful Partners with Plumas-Sierra Rural Electric Cooperative to Strengthen Member Engagement
PORTOLA, CA — Plumas-Sierra Rural Electric Cooperative (PSREC) understands that strong member engagement starts with clear access to information. In partnership with Powerful, the cooperative has launched a redesigned website that supports that goal with a more intuitive and accessible online experience.
The project marks a continued partnership between PSREC and Powerful, building on a previously established foundation. The redesign focused on refining how members navigate the site and interact with key services.
“As their second site with Powerful, the PSREC team was looking for a complete website refresh that accurately represented their community,” said Stacey Horton, project manager at Powerful.
The redesigned homepage prioritizes direct access to essential tasks. Clear call-to-action buttons guide members to commonly used tools such as bill pay, outage information and contact options. Supporting sections introduce programs like SmartHub and available rebates, giving these resources a consistent presence within the experience.
Across the site, information is presented in a way that helps members find answers without unnecessary steps. Key pages, including the Outage Center and Understanding Your Bill, organize details into clear sections that walk visitors through what they need to know and what to do next.
“By going with our Halsey blueprint, they could provide easy access to those top tasks at the top of the homepage,” Horton said.
The site also strengthens the connection between members and cooperative leadership. An interactive map allows members to identify their district and find their board representative, offering a direct way to engage with local leadership.
This structure supports ongoing communication by making space for updates, programs and resources that are relevant to both new and returning visitors.
“Those elements tied together with the illustrated footer that represents the unique qualities of their service territory truly made this project a success,” Horton said.
The custom illustrated footer reflects recognizable elements from PSREC’s service area, including the Sierra Valley landscape, fire lookouts, the Feather River, grazing cattle, trains and birdlife. These details highlight the character of the region and celebrate the communities the cooperative serves.
“I can’t wait to see how this redesign serves PSREC for years to come,” Horton said.
