Powerful Helps Washington-St. Tammany Electric Cooperative Improve Online Member Access with New Website Design
FOLSOM, LA — Powerful has redesigned the website for Washington-St. Tammany Electric Cooperative, giving members a more intuitive online experience built around common service needs, timely updates and clear pathways to action.
Washington-St. Tammany Electric Cooperative, or WSTE, is a member-owned, nont-for-profit electric cooperative dedicated to providing dependable service at the lowest available cost. The cooperative partnered with Powerful to create a website that would help members find information more quickly, increase engagement with online tools and reduce routine phone calls and emails.
The redesigned website uses Powerful’s Deschutes blueprint, a task-oriented layout that places high-priority member actions near the top of the homepage. Visitors can quickly access tools for starting or stopping service, paying their bill, checking outage information and downloading SmartHub.
“When WSTE came to Powerful, they were looking to bring life into their website through engaging design elements and an improved site visitor experience,” said Stacey Horton, Powerful project manager.
The website pairs those service-focused tools with a bold visual direction. WSTE’s new design features a bright blue and yellow color palette, wave-inspired design elements and cooperative imagery that reflects the organization’s local presence and member-first service.
“With the Deschutes blueprint, it gave the team the opportunity to combine a bold color palette, playful wave elements and captivating imagery of their cooperative to make the website inviting to all,” Horton said.
Powerful also incorporated its News Releases and Calendar and Events web apps to help WSTE keep current information visible. The homepage highlights recent news posts, upcoming events, office closures and other timely updates, giving members a dependable place to stay informed.
Those tools also support WSTE’s team behind the scenes. Powerful’s backend dashboard allows the cooperative to make website updates with ease, including changes to news posts, events, homepage content and key member resources. Powerful hosted a hands-on training session to help WSTE’s team feel confident managing the website after launch.
“With tools such as the call to action buttons, the news and the events, it will allow the team to easily communicate with their members and direct them to the top tasks they are looking to complete,” Horton said.
The redesigned website strengthens WSTE’s online member service by making important information easier to find and routine tasks easier to complete. It also gives the cooperative a flexible platform for keeping content current as services, updates and priorities change.
“I can’t wait to see how this new digital home serves WSTE and their community,” Horton said.
