Powerful & Grayson-Collin Electric Cooperative Introduce Engaging Digital Magazine Experience
VAN ALSTYNE, TX — Grayson-Collin Electric Cooperative (GCEC) is bridging the gap between print and digital with the launch of its new Texas Co-op Power Magazine microsite—developed in partnership with Powerful. The site brings the familiar magazine experience online, offering members a modern, engaging platform to explore monthly issues and featured stories.
The microsite is part of GCEC’s ongoing efforts to connect with its evolving member base and offer more accessible, up-to-date content. Visitors can browse a virtual bookshelf of past issues, click into individual stories, and explore content in a mobile-friendly format that mirrors the look and feel of the co-op’s existing brand.
“As a former co-op communicator, working on Grayson-Collin Electric Co-op’s Texas Co-op Power microsite was a dream,” said Annie Watson, Project Manager at Powerful. “With a goal of reaching different member demographics by bringing their print magazine to a digital platform, they now have a remarkably effective communication tool at their fingertips.”
Each month, GCEC staff can publish new magazine stories through a visitor-friendly process backed by Powerful’s personalized training and support. The archive is organized by issue and designed to be both searchable and easy to navigate—turning every story into a digital touchpoint that keeps members informed and connected.
The homepage, built to capture attention right away, highlights the latest edition and encourages exploration through featured images and headlines. From energy-saving tips and community events to youth features and cooperative updates, the microsite gives GCEC a flexible platform to share the stories that matter most.
“The microsite captures the site visitor’s attention with a thoughtfully designed homepage and an interactive library of magazine archives,” Watson added. “The Grayson-Collin team can now expand the footprint of their magazine to reach a whole new portion of their membership.”
With this launch, GCEC is embracing a communication strategy that honors its history while meeting the needs of a digital-first world. The microsite serves as an extension of the co-op’s mission—keeping members informed, connected, and engaged through stories that reflect the values of the community.
