Powerful Crafts Modern Website for Twin County Electric Power Association
HOLLANDALE, MS– Twin County Electric Power Association (EPA) partnered with Powerful to create a redesigned website that modernizes the cooperative’s online presence while supporting its ongoing commitment to serving members.
Twin County EPA has served its members since 1938. The member-owned electric cooperative provides safe, dependable and affordable electric service to more than 12,600 meters. Its redesigned website gives members and prospective members a clear place to find current information, complete common service tasks and connect with the cooperative online.
“When Twin County EPA came to Powerful, they were looking for a website with a modern look and feel that made it easier for their members to find information,” said Stacey Horton, project manager at Powerful.
The project centered on making the website more practical from the first visit. Instead of asking members to search for routine needs, the homepage guides them toward the actions they are most likely trying to complete.
“To achieve that, they decided on using our Deschutes blueprint which provides quick access to top tasks such as paying your bill, reporting an outage, and starting service, right at the top of the page,” Horton said.
That structure supports Twin County EPA’s goal of reducing routine phone calls and emails by making key information easier to reach online. The redesigned site also includes an interactive service territory map, allowing prospective members to enter an address and determine whether Twin County EPA provides electric service at that location.
From there, eligible applicants can move directly into the online Application for Membership and Power. Powerful transformed the application from a traditional PDF into an online form with required fields and an electronic signature. Completed forms are automatically routed to the appropriate department, helping staff process requests with more consistency.
The website also addresses another common member need: understanding available payment options. Twin County EPA wanted that information to feel easier to scan, especially for members comparing the different ways they can pay their bill.
“Their cooperative offers multiple ways to pay, so by also opting in for one of our visualized pages, they were able to make that information easier to interpret with a unique layout, the incorporation of icons, and use of bold colors,” Horton said.
Twin County EPA also opted into Powerful’s content strategy and accessibility trainings, giving staff additional support for keeping the website current and approachable after launch. Those sessions help the cooperative maintain timely information while keeping accessibility standards in mind.
“The new website turned out so clean and I’m hopeful that Twin County’s members will have a more seamless experience!” Horton said.
