Powerful Builds Unified Platform for Okanogan County Electric Cooperative’s Electric & Propane Services
WINTHROP, WA — Visitors arrive at Okanogan County Electric Cooperative’s website looking for all kinds of information. Many move between electric and propane pages in the same visit. With Powerful, the cooperative launched a unified platform that supports that behavior with clear, streamlined navigation.
The redesign centers on a dual-service department header that gives each offering—electric and propane—its own dedicated section. Members can now toggle between the two with a single click. The structure reflects the way people explore the site and gives both service lines equal visibility.
“The OCEC team came to Powerful looking for a website experience that was professional, friendly, and overall easy to navigate for their members,” said Stacey Horton, Project Manager at Powerful. “To help with that, they opted in for our department header package, which allows their site visitors to easily toggle between the electric site and the propane subsidiary, all while being able to manage from one backend.”
Both homepages feature task-oriented layouts that highlight the most common actions, such as paying a bill, requesting propane service, or managing an account. The consistent design helps visitors recognize familiar patterns as they move between sections. Each homepage also incorporates a dedicated color palette, allowing members to instantly understand which service they are viewing.
The project also includes a custom illustrated footer inspired by the Methow Valley. The artwork features Liberty Bell Mountain, mule deer, riverways and elements tied to local traditions. The color scheme aligns with the rest of the website, creating a cohesive identity across every page.
“Additionally, by adding a beautiful illustrated footer that showcased events and landmarks in their area, OCEC was able to make their members feel at home,” Horton said. “This site turned out so great and I’m excited to see how the team settles in.”
With its updated website, Okanogan County Electric Cooperative delivers a clear, modern platform built around member needs. The design supports everyday tasks, strengthens communication and provides a cohesive online experience for both electric and propane services.
