The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has implemented a new requirement for broadband Internet access service providers to display clear, easy-to-understand labels at the point of sale and on their websites. This mandate, part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, is designed to help consumers make informed decisions when comparing broadband services. The labels must include key information such as prices, speeds, data allowances, and other relevant details about the broadband plans.

Broadband providers with more than 100,000 subscribers will be required to start displaying these labels by April 10, 2024, while smaller providers have until October 10, 2024, to comply with the FCC mandate. The labels also need to be accessible to individuals with disabilities, adhering to guidelines such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
