BATON ROUGE, LA — As 1803 Electric Cooperative gears up for full operations, their new site makes their mission unmistakable.
In partnership with Powerful, 1803’s refreshed website helps them clearly communicate who they are, how they serve, and what sets them apart. With operations beginning in 2025 and roughly 175,000 member-consumers across Louisiana, 1803 needed a site built for clarity, connection and trust.
“They’re entering an exciting chapter, and this website is a key part of how they’re showing up,” says Annie Watson, project manager at Powerful. “It’s built to be clear, informative and trustworthy—so visitors can immediately understand what 1803 is all about.”
The homepage introduces 1803’s mission with a clean design and clear calls to action. Visitors can easily access high-traffic sections like “Our Members” and “Careers,” or dig deeper into pages that explain the organization’s business relationships, structure and long-term goals. The site is built on Powerful’s Laurelhurst Promotional blueprint, known for its organized layout and intuitive navigation.
A major feature is the Resource Directory, an interactive tool that highlights 1803’s member cooperatives and business partners. Each logo tile links to a brief description and external site, making it easy to explore the organizations that power 1803’s work.
“Transparency was a top priority,” Watson says. “The Resource Directory is a great way to show who they work with and how they’re connected to the larger cooperative network.”
To further explain 1803’s structure and purpose, Powerful designed a dynamic visualized “Who We Are” page. Animated statistics, iconography and short content blocks bring the cooperative’s story to life—giving visitors an engaging overview of how and why 1803 was formed.
The new site positions 1803 for long-term success by helping them communicate with confidence and consistency. As they move toward full operation, their online presence reflects the trust, organization and vision that define their approach to power.
