Petit Jean Electric Cooperative Introduces a Modern Website Platform Designed and Built with Powerful
CLINTON, AR — As demand for reliable energy and high-speed internet continues to grow, Petit Jean Electric Cooperative has launched a new website built to keep pace. Developed with Powerful, the platform unites electric and fiber services in a streamlined experience that helps visitors find answers and take action with ease.
The new site reflects the cooperative’s role in supporting daily life across rural Arkansas. From electric service to fiber connectivity, the platform brings key information and tools into one place, giving visitors a clearer path to what they need. Common actions such as paying a bill, starting service, and viewing outage information are easy to access, while updates like news and meetings remain visible throughout the site.
A key feature of the redesign is the department header, which allows visitors to move between electric and fiber services within the same website. Each section is tailored to its purpose, with electric pages focused on service reliability and outage resources, and fiber pages highlighting connectivity and availability. The structure remains consistent, while visual cues help distinguish between the two, creating a clear and organized experience without requiring visitors to navigate separate platforms.
“Working with Petit Jean was a fantastic experience for me as a designer,” said Jack Kenzler, designer at Powerful. “Their team encouraged creativity and prompted us to imagine a new, abstract direction for their web platforms.”
The design separates electric and fiber services while keeping the overall experience consistent. “For Fiber, I was inspired by simplicity and visuals indicating strong connection and reliability,” Kenzler said. “This is where the ring concept came from.”
That visual element appears across fiber pages, helping create a sense of continuity. “The ring graphic asset was thoughtfully integrated throughout the home page and other elements of the UI,” he said. “It’s a subtle asset but it provides a soft, persistent presence to the pages.”
On the electric side, the design draws from familiar elements. “For Electric, I wanted to expand on the strong illustration style of the brand logo,” Kenzler said. “The style is natural, organic and bold.”
The website also introduces tools that support everyday needs. Visitors can check fiber availability by entering their address through an interactive service map, providing immediate clarity on where service is offered and how to get started. In addition, several commonly used PDFs have been converted into online forms, allowing visitors to complete requests such as setting up automatic bank draft or enrolling in prepaid billing without printing or submitting paperwork manually.
“Websites are a perfect channel to spotlight transparency in action, and Petit Jean’s new site is proof,” said Annie Watson, project manager at Powerful. “With an easy to navigate site structure, website visitors can easily find information and resources.”
Watson said the project reflected a shared understanding of priorities. “The Petit Jean team’s goals and clear intensions made the project so fun,” she said. “The cherry on top is the beautiful, custom design that accentuating the Natural State and provides a launchpad for their brand-new logo.”
The new website provides a single place for visitors to access services, find updates, and learn more about the cooperative’s work across its service area.
