Paris BPU Works With Powerful to Expand Online Access for Customers
PARIS, TN– Paris Board of Public Utilities (Paris BPU) provides electric, water and wastewater services that support daily life across Henry County. Working with Powerful, the municipal utility developed a website designed to make those services easier for customers to navigate online.
The project focused on organizing information around the tasks customers most often need to complete. Visitors can quickly access bill payment, outage reporting, service requests and contact information while also learning more about programs and services offered by the utility.
“As a municipal utility that provides multiple services to their customers, Paris BPU needed a website that not only represented those services but was also clean and easy to navigate,” said Stacey Horton, project manager at Powerful.
The website visually reflects the range of services Paris BPU provides. Colors from the organization’s logo appear throughout the design, helping distinguish electric, water and wastewater services while maintaining a consistent look across the site.
“To accomplish that, we made sure to incorporate all of the colors in their logo (each representing a different service) throughout the design of the website,” Horton said.
The layout also places common tasks near the top of the homepage so visitors can quickly complete routine actions. As visitors continue scrolling, additional sections provide space for the utility to share updates and highlight important information.
“Additionally, by selecting one of our promotional blueprints, the team is able to provide easy access to top tasks from the top of the homepage and highlight other important information as site visitors continue to scroll,” Horton said.
Paris BPU staff said the finished site reflects the goals they set at the beginning of the project. The design offers both practical functionality and a visual style that aligns with the organization’s work in the community.
“We love the functionality and overall aesthetic of the website!” said Lori Barrow, administrative support assistant at Paris BPU.
Barrow also highlighted the collaboration involved in bringing the project together.
“My favorite part of the process? Working with the Powerful team who was just as excited as us to bring this website to fruition,” she said. “They were PHENOMENAL!”
“Overall, I feel like this site provides a welcoming digital space for employees and the community they serve!” Horton said.
