New Bell County WCID #2 Website by Powerful Improves Access to Essential Services
LITTLE RIVER ACADEMY, TX — For residents of Little River Academy, black and gold are instantly recognizable through the town’s high school Bumblebee mascot. Bell County WCID #2’s new website, developed by Powerful, reflects that hometown identity while making it easier for the community to access water services, timely updates, and essential information.
Bell County WCID #2 partnered with Powerful to redesign its website with a focus on reliability, clarity, and engagement. For a small water utility, the ability to update information quickly is essential to supporting community needs. “They needed a website that was reliable for their customers and easy to update so they could prioritize the needs of the community,” said Stacey Horton, project manager at Powerful.
The redesigned website is built on Powerful’s Springwater blueprint, a promotional layout designed to surface key tasks and district priorities. Common actions such as paying a bill, starting or stopping service, and accessing water quality reports are positioned prominently on the homepage. Horton said the Springwater structure ensured “top tasks became easily accessible on the homepage, while leaving room for promotional sections that highlighted ways to pay and elections information.”
Those promotional sections allow Bell County WCID #2 to highlight timely initiatives without cluttering the site. For example, Board of Director elections can be featured with brief context and a clear call-to-action button that links visitors to additional information. This approach helps guide visitors to important updates while keeping the overall experience straightforward and easy to navigate.
The website also integrates Powerful’s alerts web app, giving the district a clear way to communicate urgent messages. Boil water notices and other time-sensitive updates can be displayed at the top of the site, ensuring visitors see critical information right away. “With the help of the alerts web app, the Bell County team can keep their customers informed of boil water notices and other urgent messages at the top of their site,” Horton said, noting the added transparency this brings to district communications.
To further reinforce its connection to the community, the website features a custom illustrated footer designed specifically for Bell County WCID #2. The illustration includes local water towers, surrounding corn fields, and the Little River Academy High School Bumblebee mascot, using the school’s familiar black and gold colors. The artwork reflects shared landmarks and traditions, underscoring the district’s role as a local, community-based utility.
“This website came out so clean,” Horton said. “I’m excited to see how it serves their utility.”
