Lane Electric Cooperative Advances Member Connection Through Ongoing Partnership With Powerful
EUGENE, OR — Clear communication plays a vital role in how Lane Electric Cooperative serves its members. A redesigned website, developed in partnership with Powerful, reflects that priority.
The new website marks the next step in a long-standing collaboration between Lane Electric Cooperative and Powerful. As a member-owned electric cooperative serving a large and diverse service territory, Lane Electric relies on its website as a primary channel for sharing programs, updates, and essential information. The redesign aligns the site with current communication needs while maintaining a familiar, accessible experience for members.
“For their second site with Powerful, Lane Electric was looking for a refreshed look with an approachable experience for their members,” said Stacey Horton, project manager at Powerful.
The project focused on improving how visitors move through the site and locate information. Horton said the redesign included a complete restructuring of the navigation using mega menus, making it easier for visitors to explore content across the site. Promotional sections were added to bring greater visibility to Lane Electric’s programs and initiatives, while key tasks were positioned prominently on the homepage.
“By completely restructuring their navigation with mega menus, highlighting their programs through promotional sections, and providing easy access to top tasks on the homepage, we were able to make it easier for site visitors to navigate to the information they need,” Horton said.
The homepage also places an emphasis on timely and relevant content, helping members stay informed about cooperative initiatives, governance, and services. Information is organized in a way that reflects how members typically interact with the site, supporting clarity and ease of access.
“I think that these elements, along with the bright colors throughout, provide the clean look and feel the team was going for,” Horton added.
The redesigned website builds on the foundation established during the cooperative’s previous site, also developed by Powerful. The latest update reflects a natural evolution of that work, ensuring the site continues to serve members effectively as Lane Electric’s communication priorities grow and change.
