To uphold this mission and improve their online presence, UEC partnered with Powerful for a comprehensive website redesign. The main goals of this website were to make valuable resources and information easily accessible while increasing the use of online tools.
Streamlining Processes with Online Forms
UEC sought to simplify processes for both their members and administrative staff by leveraging online tools. One significant area of improvement was the membership application process, which previously required manual input.
Powerful introduced a series of online forms to UEC’s website, with the membership application being a standout feature. This form was designed with simplicity in mind, allowing members to complete their applications quickly and efficiently from any device. On the frontend, members benefit from a clear, straightforward process that eliminates the need for physical paperwork. On the backend, UEC’s administrative team can easily manage and process applications, reducing their workload and improving overall efficiency.
Enhancing Visitor Experience with SmartHub Integration
To further drive the use of online tools, UEC aimed to simplify access to their services. They identified the need for a more intuitive login process that would encourage members to use the SmartHub platform for managing their accounts.
Powerful integrated SmartHub into UEC’s website, featuring a bold yellow login button prominently in the global navigation. This button, when hovered over or clicked, reveals a dropdown with login form fields, making the login process straightforward and accessible. The design is intuitive, ensuring that even less tech-savvy members can easily navigate and use the SmartHub features.
Challenges
One of the main challenges UEC faced was ensuring that their website content remained current and engaging for their members. Keeping up with regular updates and making sure that important local stories were easily accessible was a critical goal.Solutions
To address this challenge, Powerful utilized their Virtual Webmaster services to convert UEC's Ruralite stories into a web-friendly format. Through this service, UEC sends in the content, and Powerful updates it on the website. This approach allows UEC to regularly update their site with the latest stories, ensuring members always have access to fresh and relevant information. The homepage was also designed to intuitively display the six most recent Ruralite stories and news releases, with a clear button leading to an internal page where members can access an archive of previous stories.Results
The streamlined process for updating content helps UEC maintain a vibrant and current website, enhancing member engagement. By featuring the latest stories prominently on the homepage, UEC ensures that important local news is always front and center, providing an informative experience for their members.
