Rural Arizona Votes by Grand Canyon State Electric Cooperative Association
The Grand Canyon State Electric Cooperative Association created the Rural Arizona Votes website to provide essential voting resources and information to rural communities in Arizona. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by these communities, they partnered with Powerful to create a microsite that would serve as a comprehensive hub for all voting-related information.
Simplifying Voting Information
The Grand Canyon State Electric Cooperative Association aimed to make voting information easily accessible and understandable. Often, voters find it intimidating to locate a central source of reliable resources. The newly designed Rural Arizona Votes microsite addresses this issue by simplifying information through five distinct anchor tabs: Safe & Reliable, All of the Above, Affordable Energy, Local Choice, and Water Preservation. These tabs are displayed as call-to-action buttons in the top hero section of the site. When a visitor clicks on a button, the site automatically scrolls down to the relevant section, making navigation intuitive and seamless.
Engaging & Informative Design
Each section of the microsite is designed to be visually engaging and informative. Featuring captivating photos and brief descriptions, these sections guide visitors through the various aspects of voting information. There are also tiles that direct visitors to the candidates running for the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC). These tiles are enhanced with a hover effect that changes colors, making the visitor experience more interactive and engaging.
By combining clear, concise information with engaging and interactive design elements, the microsite serves as a valuable resource for rural voters. The website simplifies the process of accessing voting resources. As a result, Rural Arizona Votes empowers their community, ensuring that voters can make well-informed decisions with confidence.
Challenges
One of the primary challenges for Rural Arizona Votes was creating a cohesive and engaging design that resonated with their target audience while effectively delivering vital voting information. The website needed to stand out and be instantly recognizable as a reliable source for voting resources. This required a thoughtful design that balanced aesthetics with functionality, making the voting information accessible and inviting to all visitors.Solutions
Powerful addressed these challenges by designing a microsite with a cohesive layout that uses a blue and red color scheme, aligning with the branding of the national Co-ops Vote movement. This color scheme strengthens their connection to a broader national initiative. The design features intuitive navigation with clear call-to-action buttons, engaging photos, and interactive elements that enhance the visitor experience. Each section is intentionally organized, ensuring that visitors can easily access relevant information without any confusion.Results
