Overview

A Strategic Website Redesign Rooted in Progress

Geetingsville Telephone Company may be Indiana’s smallest independent telephone company, but its vision for digital communication is anything but small. Serving the Frankfort area since 1901, Geetingsville has always balanced hometown values with modern innovation. When it came time to redesign their website, they partnered with Powerful to create a more intuitive, accessible, and forward-thinking online experience. Their goals were clear: prioritize accessibility, present a modern digital presence, and ensure that visitors could easily navigate to the services and tools they rely on most.

Ensuring Accessibility

As a broadband provider, Geetingsville recognized the importance of making their services as accessible and transparent as possible. It wasn’t just about checking boxes—it was about serving all visitors equitably and keeping pace with industry expectations. To support this effort, Powerful implemented their Rate Plans app, which organizes internet packages into clearly defined, easy-to-scan cards that outline pricing, speeds, terms, and included features.

Each plan includes a downloadable Broadband Label—an advanced feature of the app designed to meet the Federal Communications Commission’s new labeling requirements. These labels provide critical information in a standardized format, helping visitors make informed decisions while allowing Geetingsville to stay compliant with federal transparency rules. The clean layout also eliminates confusion that can come with hard-to-read PDFs or buried plan details. Everything is upfront, clearly displayed, and accessible—all without overwhelming the visitor.

Honoring Legacy with a Modern Touch

With over a century of history behind them, Geetingsville wanted a website that celebrated their unique past while looking confidently toward the future. As one of only 35 independent telephone companies remaining in Indiana, they needed a platform that conveyed both pride in their heritage and commitment to innovation. Powerful brought that vision to life using the Springwater promotional-based blueprint, which balances a clean, contemporary layout with space for storytelling and personalization.

The site’s design helps convey the small-town values that define the company. The branding leans into a familiar red-and-gray palette, while the layout maintains a clean and approachable tone, reinforcing the feeling of a company that’s deeply local yet ready for what’s next. The new homepage now serves as a launch point to their most important resources, from internet pricing and phone plans to online bill pay and technical support. Each section is visually distinct, with clear calls to action that make it easy for visitors to find exactly what they need without unnecessary clicks.

Challenges

Geetingsville Telephone Company had long relied on downloadable PDF documents to share important information like service applications and plan details. This approach allowed visitors to access what they needed, but it came with a few limitations. Tasks like applying for internet service required printing, scanning, or mailing forms—steps that didn’t always align with how people prefer to complete things online today.

As digital expectations continue to evolve, Geetingsville saw an opportunity to simplify these processes. With a small team managing a range of customer needs, they wanted to make it easier for visitors to complete common tasks independently—while preserving the same sense of personal service they’re known for.

Solutions

To modernize how key information was delivered, Powerful worked with Geetingsville to convert many of their PDF documents into live web content. Instead of requiring visitors to download and fill out forms manually, important materials—like the internet application—are now fully integrated into the website. The updated version allows visitors to complete and submit the form directly online, streamlining the process from start to finish.

Results

The new website gives visitors a more direct path to the tools and services they rely on. By reducing extra steps, Geetingsville has made it easier to start service, find information, and get support—all from one place. The shift from PDFs to online content, creates a more polished, convenient experience that still feels grounded in the company’s local, people-first identity.

For the team behind the scenes, these changes bring added clarity and efficiency. Form submissions are easier to manage, and visitors are more likely to complete tasks on their own. The updated site reflects the balance Geetingsville was aiming for—modern and streamlined, yet still personal and rooted in the values that have guided them since 1901.

Geetingsville Telephone Company has been serving its community for over a century, and this redesign was about honoring that legacy while making everyday interactions more accessible. Turning static PDFs into live, easy-to-access web content may seem simple, but for a company with deep roots and a small team, it was a powerful step forward in delivering modern service with the same personal touch they’ve always had.
