Overview

About

Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation (AECC) generates, sells and delivers reliable and affordable wholesale energy and related services to its 17 member-owners within Arkansas. Arkansas Electric Cooperatives, Inc. (AECI) serves as a Statewide Services Cooperative; providing education, public relations, governmental affairs, and other support services to its 17 member-owners.

The website redesign aimed to create versatile, yet cohesive branding for the statewide organization. The project desired to push the boundaries of consistency through flexibility in representing the individuality of all 17 different member-owners.

Increase Awareness

This premium website features a custom design. Inspired by the community-driven characteristics of AECC, the new website serves as a resourceful platform for all. To increase awareness of AECC’s campaigns and initiatives, the homepage features Call-to-Action buttons. Upon entering the website, visitors can easily engage with AECC’s latest content with the simple click of a button.

Stay Up-to-Date

AECC strives to provide affordable, reliable, and responsible services. The new website directly reflects its mission through credible information. As website visitors easily access information through a sleek and modern design, AECC gains trust and credibility with its members. Its positive web experience leaves a lasting impression.

The hassle-free experience extends to AECC’s staff. With an easy-to-use management system, content curators can quickly and easily update information. The simple system encourages and empowers staff members to continuously update content– maintaining relevance and accuracy amongst AECC’s audience.

Challenges

AECC covers over 60 percent of Arkansas land area-- spanning across more than 500,000 homes, farms, and businesses. The website redesign project faced the challenge of creating a website that provided equal emphasis to hot topics within AECC. The “Balance of Power” campaign needed additional emphasis to be communicated at the forefront of priorities for AECC’s leadership team.

Solutions

To ensure relevance for all 17 member-owners, the new aecc.com provides up-to-date content. The website homepage features clear Call-to-Action buttons which communicates the “Balance of Power” campaign effectively. With the help of a refined, professional and modern branding kit, aecc.com successfully captures the unique essence of its mission.

Results

With the ambition to provide relevant and reliable information for a large audience, the new website offers a functional design that unites Arkansas communities. This website redesign project drove creative web solutions to its fullest potential. By harnessing the sixth cooperative principle, “cooperation among cooperatives”, aecc.com empowers their member-owners through combined efforts and support.

Being an Arkansas native, managing this project was a fun one for me! Our team was able to understand the goal for the AECC website and portray and communicate it in a great way. I love the forward-thinking design with the diagonal look throughout the site. One of my favorite features of this site, is the ability to access each cooperative website throughout the state of Arkansas by navigating by their different logos. I believe our team successfully communicated their tagline throughout their new site: 'Always affordable, reliable and responsible.'
