Expanding an Essential Service
Created and owned by Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative (CVEC), CVEC Fiber was established to meet a growing need across the same rural Oklahoma communities the cooperative has served since 1939. Its mission, “Improve Life, Serve Community,” carries into a fiber network designed to connect homes, businesses, schools, and municipalities with dependable broadband service. As CVEC Fiber continued expanding its reach, the organization partnered with Powerful to create an independent website that could represent its services and identity on their own. The project focused on intuitive navigation, increased adoption of online tools, and a modern design that reflects the forward-thinking role CVEC Fiber plays in the communities it serves.
Connecting With Confidence
For many visitors, CVEC Fiber’s website may shape their first impression of the organization. A homeowner may be checking whether fiber has reached the neighborhood, while a local business may be researching service options or looking for a dependable connection to support daily operations. CVEC Fiber needed that first interaction to communicate the same qualities behind its network: reliability, innovation, and a strong connection to the communities it serves. The website also needed to feel distinctly CVEC Fiber, giving the organization an independent identity while staying grounded in its cooperative mission to “Improve Life, Serve Community.”
Powerful applied its Alder promotional blueprint to create a modern, energetic design that keeps that mission at the forefront. Deep navy backgrounds, bright orange accents, bold typography, angled graphic elements, and large community-focused photography give the site a polished look suited to a fiber provider without losing its local character. The homepage leads with “Connecting Our Communities With Fiber” alongside a prominent Check Availability button, pairing CVEC Fiber’s purpose with one of the first questions a prospective subscriber is likely to have. Visitors can quickly see what the organization provides and determine whether service is available where they live or work.
Alder’s promotional sections give CVEC Fiber room to answer other common questions in a visual, approachable way. Residential internet, business solutions, and phone service each receive their own feature with photography, a short introduction, and a direct next step. Quick-access options for Pay Bill, Service Map, Residential Internet, Phone Services, and Technical Support give current subscribers a straightforward path to routine tasks as well. Together, these elements help the homepage serve people at different stages, from someone hearing about CVEC Fiber for the first time to a longtime subscriber looking for support.
The Reviews section brings an especially important human element to a service built around technology. Prospective subscribers can read firsthand experiences related to installation, internet performance, and customer service, helping establish confidence through the voices of people already connected to CVEC Fiber. Current subscribers can also select Share Your Experience to provide feedback through a dedicated interior page. That invitation reinforces CVEC Fiber’s community-focused approach and creates another way for the organization to listen, learn, and continue improving as its network grows.
Making Fiber Plans Clear
As CVEC Fiber expands its network, the website has an important role in answering everyday service questions before a subscriber needs to pick up the phone or send an email. Internet packages naturally come with a lot of information, from speeds and pricing to equipment, installation, network policies, and required broadband disclosures. Presenting all of those details at once can make a straightforward decision feel complicated. CVEC Fiber wanted an online path that would give visitors the information they need in a format that is simple to navigate.
Powerful implemented its Rate Plans web app to organize that information into a consistent, approachable format. Residential options such as Essential, Elite, and Epic appear in individual cards with the plan name, speed, monthly price, and key details arranged in the same order. Each plan also includes its corresponding Broadband Facts information directly beneath it. Visitors can compare options within a single page rather than piecing together details from multiple locations.
Consider a household trying to decide which plan fits its routine. A visitor may know the family streams television, works from home, plays online games, and has several devices connected at once, but may have little familiarity with broadband terminology. The Rate Plans web app turns those everyday needs into something that can be compared at a glance. The visitor can review speeds, pricing, equipment information, and other plan details, then continue directly to the “Sign Up Today” button when ready.
That clear path supports both sides of the service experience. Prospective subscribers gain access to the information they are likely to ask about before signing up, while CVEC Fiber’s team can spend less time responding to repetitive plan inquiries. Combined with prominent options such as Check Availability, online billing, the service map, and technical support, the website gives visitors practical ways to find answers and complete common tasks on their own. The result is an online experience that matches the service CVEC Fiber is building across rural Oklahoma: reliable, accessible, and ready to support what comes next.
Challenges
As an independent subsite, CVEC Fiber needed a website experience that could stand confidently on its own while still making its connection to Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative clear. Visitors may arrive specifically looking for internet or phone service, while others may begin on the cooperative side and need an obvious path to fiber information. The challenge was creating separation between the two organizations online without making that relationship feel disconnected or confusing.Easy navigation was especially important because CVEC Fiber serves visitors with very different needs. A prospective subscriber may want to check availability or compare residential plans, while a current subscriber may be looking for billing, technical support, or service information. Business customers and visitors researching phone services introduce another layer of needs. The site had to make those paths apparent without crowding the navigation or requiring visitors to know exactly where information lived.
CVEC Fiber also wanted the homepage to help visitors quickly understand its services, recognize which path applied to them, and move naturally toward the next step. Balancing promotional content with practical navigation would allow the site to support both first-time visitors and established subscribers.
Solutions
Powerful organized the website around clear service categories and action-focused navigation. At the very top of the site, dedicated Electric and Fiber tabs create a simple connection between CVEC and CVEC Fiber. Since the two websites have separate URLs and backends, the tabs act as a visual bridge rather than combining the organizations into one website. A visitor who reaches the wrong side can quickly move between electric cooperative information and fiber services while each organization maintains its own navigation, content structure, and online identity. The homepage reinforces those navigation choices through Alder’s promotional layout. Dedicated sections for residential internet, business solutions, and phone service pair a short explanation with a direct call to action, allowing visitors to identify the service that matches their needs before diving into additional details. The result is a layered navigation approach: broad choices appear first, common tasks remain highly visible, and supporting information is available once a visitor moves deeper into the site.
Results
The new website gives CVEC Fiber a distinct online presence while preserving a clear connection to the cooperative that created it. The Electric and Fiber tabs establish that relationship from the first interaction, while the independent design, navigation, and content allow CVEC Fiber to speak directly to broadband subscribers and prospective customers. Visitors can quickly understand which side of the organization they are viewing and move between electric and fiber information without losing their place.Clear service groupings and visible calls to action also create intuitive paths for different visitor needs. Prospective subscribers can move from checking availability to reviewing plans and signing up, while current subscribers can head directly to billing, technical support, or other service information. Together, these decisions give CVEC Fiber a flexible website structure that can grow alongside its network while making everyday information and next steps easy to find. The experience gives visitors a clear path from their first questions through ongoing service needs, reinforcing CVEC Fiber’s role as a modern provider rooted in cooperative service.

It was such a fun process incorporating the unique colors and design elements from CVEC Fiber’s logo throughout the rest of their site to make it memorable! My favorite had to have been the yellow-orange gradient which allows sections of content to stand out against the dark blue and white backgrounds. This especially shines through on their Outage Center visualized page with the gradient primarily being used for icons, which aid in content comprehension. Overall, this new design allows the CVEC Fiber brand to shine through while providing a clean, crisp site experience that is easy to navigate.
