Overview

A Fresh Look for a Growing Mission

Central Access, a broadband provider created by Central Alabama Electric Cooperative (CAEC), was founded to bring high-speed fiber internet to rural and underserved areas across Central Alabama. Backed by CAEC’s legacy of service, Central Access is known for its commitment to connection—both through technology and community support.

As their reach expanded and digital needs evolved, Central Access teamed up with Powerful to refresh their website. The goals were clear: make the site easier to navigate, ensure content could stay up to date, and reflect the high-quality service customers have come to expect. With more people relying on their website to check availability, start service, or compare plans, it was time for a new experience that could keep up with the momentum.

Getting Answers Fast with CrowdFiber

One of the most common questions for broadband providers is: Do you offer service at my address? Instead of making visitors search for that answer, the new homepage brings it front and center. A streamlined CrowdFiber integration allows people to enter their address, zip code, and market area to instantly check service availability.

This tool lives on the homepage in a clean, attention-grabbing section with a dark background and bold white text, helping it stand out without disrupting the overall flow. Its placement ensures that whether someone is casually browsing or intentionally seeking service, they’ll naturally come across it. By eliminating extra steps and guiding people straight to the information they need, the CrowdFiber integration reduces confusion, improves satisfaction, and helps move potential customers one step closer to signing up. Ultimately, this tool does more than answer a question—it opens the door to connection, reinforcing Central Access’s commitment to fast, friendly service from the very first click.

FCC Compliance, Made Clear & Simple

Broadband providers are now required to meet a growing list of transparency standards set by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and Central Access was ready to rise to the occasion. Their new Plans & Pricing page—powered by Powerful’s Rate Plans app—gives visitors an at-a-glance overview of each service option in a clean, easy-to-read layout.

Each plan is displayed with clear pricing, straightforward descriptions, and a “Broadband Facts” section that expands to reveal standardized FCC-compliant labels. These labels are automatically generated by the app, taking the burden of formatting and compliance off the Central Access team. The design ensures that important details—such as service terms, speeds, and fees—are all accessible without overwhelming the page or the visitor.

For a provider rooted in transparency and trust, this functionality goes beyond just checking a regulatory box. It offers peace of mind, showing visitors exactly what they’re signing up for. For Central Access, it means staying compliant while keeping the digital experience smooth, modern, and aligned with their commitment to service.

The new website brings clarity to complex decisions, removes barriers to connection, and reinforces trust from the very first interaction. As they continue expanding access across Central Alabama, this refreshed platform ensures they stay just as connected online as they are in the neighborhoods they serve.

Challenges

As Central Access expanded its services and team, the need to keep website content timely and accurate became more critical. Different departments needed access to update various parts of the site—from marketing to customer service to technical support.

Central Access needed a solution that could keep up with their growing team while maintaining security and structure. They wanted to avoid bottlenecks, reduce the risk of miscommunication, and make it easier for admins to manage content confidently. A more streamlined, scalable way to manage backend access became essential to support their day-to-day operations and long-term goals.

Solutions

Powerful implemented a Single Sign-On (SSO) integration using Azure Active Directory to streamline how Central Access administrators access the website backend. With this setup, admins log in using the same Microsoft for Work credentials they already use internally, eliminating the need to juggle extra usernames or passwords. Automatic registration means that when a new team member logs in for the first time, they’re instantly granted access—saving Central Access valuable time and reducing onboarding friction.

The integration also supports role-based access through optional domain and directory mapping, which assigns appropriate permissions based on an admin’s department or responsibilities. This is especially helpful for Central Access, where multiple teams may be making updates across different sections of the site. Each admin gets access to only the tools they need—keeping the workflow organized, secure, and easy to manage as the organization continues to grow.

Results

The Single Sign-On integration has made it easier for Central Access to manage backend access across a growing team. Admins can now log in using the credentials they already use every day, which speeds up workflows and reduces the need for IT involvement.

With automatic registration and role-based access in place, Central Access now has a scalable, secure system that grows with them. Different teams—whether posting service announcements, updating rate plans, or managing support content—can confidently access the tools they need without confusion or overlap. The result is a more organized, efficient backend experience that supports Central Access’ commitment to staying responsive and reliable for the communities they serve.

It was amazing to help the Central Access team create a website that's dynamic and allows for growth. With website visitors top of mind, we considered looked for an intuitive design with easy to follow navigation filled with up-to-date and relevant content. I am excited to see how the site serves the Central Access team, and continues to provide an avenue to increase subscribers and be the information hub.
